Checking for Levels in Turtle Tank, Algae accumulation outrageous!

I am unsure what I am suppose to do if my turtles tank (Red eared Slider) has too much PH or ammonia. Are there any other things I need to check for? I do see a lot of algae producing in the tank, any suggestions on how to combat that without harming Superman the turtle.

A: We have a very good article on algae control for ponds. All the concepts and ideas apply to your turtle tank as well. We highly recommend any of the bacterial products for improving the water quality in your turtle tank.
