Do I fill both tubes with water?

by Birta
(Iceland)

When you set the tank up the first time, do you fill the both tubes before turning it on or do you just fill the gray income tube?

I also have a question on if I also should fill the rena filstar box before starting the filter
A: No you don't fill the canister or the outlet tube. The best advice I can give you it to get a copy of the manual and see the setup video at Mars Fishcare. They are the manufacturer of the Rena Filstar XP Canister Filter. Also, look around in the FAQ section of PlanetRena and you'll also find good information on setup and maintenance.

Rena Filstar XP startup and getting started
by: Joshua Caldwell

As previously posted the manual will tell you how.

Basically toggle the intake latch up, fill the intake tube completely and cap it off, lower the toggle and siphon action will fill the container and then just plug it in.
