Do I have a faulty top basket lid?.....

by Danny
(Pennsylvania)

I have a question for any Rena XP4 owners. Is the top lid that goes on the top basket suppose to "seal" down to the basket perfectly? I'm asking because for some reason the top basket lid on my XP4 does not "sit tight" on the top basket. The corners of the lid raise up a little, creating a bypass area for the dirty water. At first I thought maybe I had too much media in the top basket, so I took half of it out. It did not fix the problem. Everything is put together and set up correctly. It seems like the pressure from the canister lid is causing the corners of the basket lid to raise a little, or do I have a bad lid? Can any XP4 owners out there take a flashlight and look to see if your top basket lid is doing the same, and let me know if that is normal?

A: I will look at your pictures to make sure but you may just have something weird going on. If the filter is more than two years old I would replace the baskets and basket lid. If less than two years you might try contacting the manufacturer directly.
