i have set it up with and without the filter media in it incase i over filled it.i replaced the o ring which i was advised to but it still leaks how can i solve this as the canister seems to have no cracks and the clamps clip down fine any help would be appreciated thankyou

A: Very difficult to diagnose problems with used equipment. Your best bet is to view all the videos on our web site and then go to Mars Fishcare and view their setup and maintenance video. This will give you some ideas as to what you might need to repair next.

I had the same problem

and solved it by using a small amount of white lithium grease around the lip of the canister - this has stopped leaks on both an xp1 and xp2 and does not harm the fish.

If in doubt consider replacing all the seals as the life expectancy is 1 to 3 years according to this site.

There is a kit to replace all the seals since it is hard to establish which one is actually leaking
