I have an XP3 that will run for a few minutes and then stop. ???

by Jay
(Orlando, FL)

I have replaced just about everything except the canister and the problem is the same. I replaced the motor,o-rings,impeller,hose connector assembly etc. The filter is about 3 years old and had worked good up until the last few months. The filter will run good for about 2-3 minutes then slow to a trickle and just stop. I can hear the motor running but zero output. Any ideas?

A: Unless the rotor/impeller is actually stopping or being slowed down by debris or damage, the most likely cause is poor priming or water flow through the system. Please read through the performance questions already posted for help with this problem. You can also contact the manufacturer, Mars Fishcare directly.
