i have an xp3..it is leaking around lid where you pick up unit to move it around, how come

by phil houle
(calgary, alberta, canada)

on the side of the canister lid where you are able to put your hands in to carry there is ann exess of water building up in there and spilling over onto my floor. it was working good and then i moved to left six inches and now is leaking everywhere. pls help as it is gonna ruin my floors
A: Most likely when you moved the filter you put a strain on the Quick Disconnect. This is causing water to leak around the two extension pieces (inlet/outlet) that fit into the top of the motor. This water goes between the top lid of the motor and motor itself and eventually leaks out between these two pieces. To fix this make sure to lift up the handle on the Quick Disconnect and then re-seat the quick disconnect back into the top of the filter. If this does not work then you'll have to find out why the quick-disconnect is leaking.
