Is it possible that there is too much filter media present in the canisters?

by Joe
(Kenosha, WI)

I've noticed a drastic decrease in flow since installing new media in my XP4, it went from a jet stream to a trickle. I have primed and reset three times now, let it run overnight hoping flow would improve, nothing is helping. Should I go back to only utilizing three canisters?
A: Best bet is to test the filter without any filtration material in the basket. If flow is restored then go back and make sure the filters are installed the same way as they are in new filter. Test again. If you are happy with that flow rate then it probably is something about your custom installation that is causing the water to be blocked as it flows through the filter material.
