leak from motor head

by David
(Olney, MD)

I have the XP3 and recently began leaking from the power cable to the floor. I have taken the motor apart, re lubed the seals, and reassembled. No help.

What's up, and how do I fix?

A: From your description I would suspect you have a leak around the Quick Disconnect. When this happens water will run into a small well located behind the motor coil. Either the seals on the quick disconnect are not sealing or the Quick Disconnect is not seated securely into the top of the filter. One thing to try is to remove the QD and reinsert back into the filter making sure to push down firmly before locking down the handle. Otherwise you can try an replace the orings on the Quick Disconnect.
