MOTOR SIZE

by PHIL K
(MIDLOTHIAN, VA)

I KNOW THE XP4 HAS A BETTER FLOW RATE THAN THE XP3,BASICALLY BECAUSE ITS A LARGER UNIT, BUT IS THE MOTOR ALSO LARGER?

A: Yes, although the physical dimensions are the same, the inside (coil/stator) of the motor is more powerful as is the rotor/impeller. The XP3 motor is 28 watts and the XP4 is 31. You are not talking about a big difference (100 gallons per hour) but the extra power is needed to power the larger canister and the extra basket.
