My filter is not moving water, what do I do?

Hi. I have an Xp3 running on a 70 gallon tank, with a few modifications fitted for my turtle (only media modifications). Recently, I've noticed my filter is not moving water, and I decided to clean it. I then discovered that we had a physid infestation (tiny little snails). My question is, do we need to buy a new motor etc. or is there anything I can do to fix it myself? Also, the top media basket is not fitting properly with the motorhead. Thanks.

A: You might have damage to the motor but more likely you just need to clean the motor. You can learn a lot about motor problems and solutions by viewing the repair videos. You can also review all the previous issues discussed regarding turtle tanks at Planet Rena.
