My tank has a euro brace, is there extensions for the return and drain lines to fit over the brace?

by Richard
(Mesquite, TX.)

My tank has a euro brace, is there extensions for the return and drain lines to fit over the brace? I need a piece that is at least 3 1/4" to go around the euro brace and tank trim and the ones supplied are only 2 3/4".

A: There are no additional accessories for the Rena Filstar XP than those that come in the tray. So unless you can figure out how to cut and glue some tubing together to make the pieces you need, you won't be able to use the accessories that come with the filter. Once this is posted perhaps some other users have already solved the problem and will comment.

Not a good answer
by: Richard

I do not think that is a good answer, I know I am not the only person with a euro braced tank. I know that may be the only solution right now but I think it is something Rena should look at, they obviously thought about it making it so wide (way more than you need on a standard tank), but just not wide enough. I soaked the tubes in boiling water to soften them up and then put them on, it doesn't look the prettiest but I think it is better than cutting them, gluing some hose on and hoping it doesn't leak all over my floor

What not to do
by: Joshua Caldwell

I had the same problem once and ended up cutting a groove in the brace. I would not recommend doing this as it developed a crack after three years. Had to replace that 55gal tank before the crack spread to the glass.
