My XP1 wont pump the water in my fish tank

by Anne
(Plymouth)

I am in the process of setting up a new fish tank. I have filled the tank after feeding the pipes through the hood and into the tank, one end has a inlet pipe with a cover, although I had to replace part of the shop bought installation kit as it was split, so I replaced the split pipe with some flexible pipe. The outlet installation is standard. Is it because I have replace the split pipe with flexible hose that the pump is not pumping. I have taken it apart and cleaned it, and bought a new impeller just in case, filled it back up with water and still nothing. Yet when my friend brought the XP1 over to my house, before I set up the tank, it was working as we tried it but outside the tank. I don't know enough to work out what it is I am doing wrong - can you help me please?

A: The best place to get answers to this type question is from the company/dealer where you purchased the item since they are more familiar with your setup. As an alternative you can contact the manufacturer. In the US that is Mars Fishcare (formerly Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) This is the information in the product manual or literature that came with your product. If you don't have that information here it is again:

Email: docwellfish@aquariumpharm.com or Toll Free 800-847-0659

PlanetRena is an authorized distributor of Rena products and we are happy to answer questions about replacement parts or additional parts needed to complete your setup.
