reduced output from filter possibly caused by current slime algae problem

My Rena XP3 is 3 years old and had been working consistently until I slipped into a slimy algae problem. This algae coats everything in the tank. I normally clean the filter once a month, changing filter pads regularly and cleaning the rotor and spindle.

Lately, the output flow is greatly reduced. What are your suggestions for fixing this. I've cleaned all the parts that I have access to. Could the intake hose cause this much trouble? Or are there usual places in the motor housing or internal water-ways that need cleaning?

A: somthing is preventing the water from flowing through the system. There are many Q&A's already posted on this subject in the the Filstar FAQ section. Please take some time to go through these and if you still need help contact the manufacturer, Mars Fishcare, directly.
