Rena XP3 Control Valve on the Output Pipe

by Kelvin

Hi just to check, when i want to control the output flow of the water by using the control valve, will it in anyway affect the impeller rotor shaft? Is like, when i lower down the output flow, will the impeller or blade be affected by it? Coz its like controlling the output flow of the water, instead of its full potential.

Thanks
A: It controls only the flow on the discharge side. Very similar to a water faucet. It has no effect on the rotor impeller. Some water pumps (not filters) can be controlled on the inlet side. We have many pumps that we sell with this type of system. None of these allow for complete shut down of water to the rotor-impeller so that you can't damage the rotor-impeller with a complete water restriction.
