Rena XP3 primes but does not maintain water level in canister

(ohio)

after i clean the rena xp3 and hook it back to the tank EMPTY.... It primes and everything is ok and then after a day or so there is only water filling the canister maybe 3/4 up the top basket. why would it be doing this ?

A: The fact that the unit restarts OK but does not maintain water level indicates that there is a leak of air into the system on the intake side. Any place on the intake above the water level that includes a joint or seal is a place where air can leak into the system. Check these areas first including the Quick Disconnect.
