Running multiple xP-3 in same 90 gallon tank
(Myrtle Beach, S.C.)
Only a Rena will do in my tanks
From main display tank (90 gallon reef tank), being input to a Rena 3 with 4 stage MECHANICAL only filtration. The output of this unit feeds into a 30 gallon refugium/sump with heater, protein skimming, and powerhead. From the 30 gallon, it is sucked into a second Rena 3 with 1 stage super-micro mechanical, carbon and phos sorb chemical, and bio-stars in the top chamber, which feeds back to the main marine display tank. Works great.
90 gallon display with 120 lbs live rock, 100 lbs. live sand, 18 different varieties of coral, 4 tangs, 1 hawkfish (long-nose), 2 clown gobies, 2 clown fish, a gorgeous green mandarin (with copepods growing for food source),1 bi-color blennie, 1 long-spine black unchin, 1 coral-banded shrimp, and reef cleaners.
