why is by Rena Filsatr xp4 motor not running

had xp4 external filter for just over 2 yrs. now motor not running. have cleaned and checked propeller. canister fills with water but when i plug back into power nothing happens. have changed fuse on plug, still not working.

A: It could be several things. One, the motor is shot. This means a replacement motor is needed. Two, the rotor/impeller is turning but no water is in the impeller chamber so the pump just spins but can't pump water.
