Why is my water cloudy??

by Rosie
(NH)

Hello,

I've had the Rena xp3 running in my 75 gallon for two months now. I've rinsed or replaced the filter medium twice (once per month) but my water is still really cloudy.

I don't see any tips on how to clean out the tubes but I'm not even sure that that's my problem. I change out 25-30% of the tank water each week and always vacuum the gravel at the same time.

Any thoughts as to what I should try?

Thanks

A: You have to allow the tank to mature by not changing the water and doing so much cleaning. A clear tank is a result of natural processes that occur in nature. Here are some links to other sections of our web site that have questions related to clear water:

There are two questions related to clarity about half way down the page.

I saw another question on cloudy water about 10 down from the top.
