Will the XP4 work on a half full aquarium?

by Garrett
(Irvine, California)

I have a 75 gallon aquarium that I keep half full for my turtle. Will the XP4 be able to be primed and work if the water level is only half full (approximately 12" deep in a 24" tall tank.) I would put the filter in the cabinet under the tank but I was unsure if it would be able to run. No other questions seem to mention as to what to do with a half full tank for a turtle.

A: We cover turtle/amphibian setups here. There are at least two references to this type setup. The only thing you will need to do is extend your intake lower into the tank. I believe they cover this also.
