xp3 impeller cover

by Colin
(Vancouver,bc)

I want to replace the impeller cover on the xp3. It is a bit noisy. The reason I think it is the cover cause the shaft that goes into the cover is a bit loose. This one uses only one rubber bushing as seen in the picture. When I went to shop for a new cover, all I can find is the newer style where it uses two bushing and the second bushing fits inside the impeller cover and mine didn't have the provision for it. So can I buy the newer cover with the extra bushing and it will fit properly? Not sure how old this filter is cause I bought it used. Strange that it only uses a one bushing system. Any help would be appreciated.
The white stuff at the end of the shaft is teflon tape which I thought would help in the fit. An the cover stay on tight.
A: You can replace old impeller cover with the new Rena Filstar XP impeller cover here. It may fit very well or might be a little loose. If so, it sounds like you know how to wrap a small amount of teflon tape around the edge to tighten the fit.
