xp3

I am still having problems with my rena xp3.I have replaced all the media and connection pipework with brand new ones, reseated all the trays inside and the impellor. When I start it up it primes fine and then after half an hour it starts to get noisy. I have noticed tiny little bubbles up the intake tube and have tilted the filter slightly in case of trapped air. I cant find any leaks and have replaced all the tubes etc in case it was that. With the quick release attachment if I tilt the filter should that allow any water to leak through as when tilted there is a bit of water coming from this part and I wondered if this could be the source of the problem.

If not how else can I check for air leaks , I have checked the setup video and I know this is ok , all the clips etc are ok on the canister . I have also read through all the q and a on the site and none of them seem to fit my problem or have already tried their solutions.

A: It sounds like air is leaking around the quick disconnect. Look in the DIY video section for info.

xp3 air
by: david yurik

i had air bubbles shooting down the intake tube. the intake was submerged in the tank so that couldn't have been the problem. the only place for air to get in was the place where you fill up the tank to prime. i put a small piece of saran wrap over the hole and then screwed the cap on. i made sure the saran wrap stuck out a little under the screwed on cap. my air injection was stopped at this point. if i take the saran wrap out it shoots air again. maybe this will work for you.
