Xp4 filter shuts off and turns on all day and night, what can it be?

by Bob
(Califonia)

My xp4 filter works great , I've had it for one year, the last service I did , I notice it runs for about 15 min then shuts off for about 20min, then starts back up, Is it overheating? Water flows great, no noise , no air bubbles, what can I do?

A: Your Rena Filstar XP4 has either a priming/flow issue or defective thermal overload switch. It is running hot and kicking the thermal overload. Since the item is still under warranty you should contact the manufacturer, Mars Fishcare about the issue. If you want to do a little more work before calling just take a look at the links below for info and help.
