xp4 will not fill with water after maintenance

by Lori Andres
(Orlando, Fl)

My xp4 will not automatically fill with water when I push the handle down. When I start to push it down, there is a "sweet spot" when I can here water rush in for a few seconds. If I push it all the way down, nothing happens. I have to push it back up, and then about a third of the way the water rushes in for a few seconds. It takes about an hour of doing this over and over. Also, when it is finally full, there seems to be a leak along the front seam that goes through the middle of the blue motor housing. I have it duct taped. It is only 3 months old. I have a call into Mars, but sometimes it takes a while to hear back. Any ideas? Thanks, Lori
A: If the filter is only 3 months old and the unit works by stopping and restarting the QD then it must be a defective QD. Mars is really the only one that can help you with the question. We might get someone else to comment by posting this.
